The redevelopment of the former Elephant and Castle shopping centre and a final phase on the existing London College of Communication site. The plans will extend Get Living’s presence in this vibrant zone 1 area and deliver a diverse new town centre.

Work is now underway to create 979 homes for rent, a transformed environment for shoppers and retailers incorporating 200,000 sq ft of commercial space, a new campus for London College of Communication, UAL, an upgraded Tube station and acres of new public realm.

Bringing much needed new housing to the area, 35% of these homes will be affordable by habitable room, including more than 100 new social rented homes.

At the centre will be the new home for the London College of Communication, keeping it at the heart of Elephant and Castle as it has been for more than 30 years, preserving the important employment and cultural role it plays in the local area. Working with neighbours and partners, the new town centre will deliver the rejuvenation of the whole area, breathing new life into what is already one of London’s most dynamic and vibrant places.

The first phase of programme – including close to 500 homes, new shops, restaurants and leisure spaces, a new Tube station and the new London College of Communication building – is due to complete in early 2026. A further phase is also in the pipeline for a further 498 new homes and 35,000 sq ft of commercial space.
